For those of you who tune in regularly, you may have noticed a recent surge in posts of the remastered classics. What you’re seeing is the final push to get my archives completely updated from No. 1 through to the present. My goal is to have this completed by the end of 2008, and I am currently on schedule to make that deadline.

At this point there are 193 strips online, with 15 more to go. The bulk of those are in the 10-20 range, all of which I am rescanning and recoloring one-by-one. For those of you paying very close attention and who have access to Poet in print, I will be maintaining the current two-strip buffer between what you see in the newspaper and those that are uploaded here. Plus there are four strips that probably will never be put online (3, 59, 152, and 175) for various reasons that have nothing to do with Rhode Island’s strict anti-sodomy laws. Seriously, they’re not.

Once the archives are completely filled out, I’ll be able to make some repairs and upgrades to the website, and possibly put more time into marketing. On the other hand, it will mean there will only be a single strip posted weekly. Until somebody wants to give me a grant, that’s all I will have energy for.

So enjoy this last flurry of “new” material. I will enjoy it most when it’s all done. I hate coloring these things. I hate drawing them too. And maintaining the website. And writing them. Basically the only part I like is where I get to read the finished strips.
